A sunset post

The sunsets are always great out here. It helps that I have a hotel room that faces west and almost directly at the sun. Plus, I usually spend it up at the lounge getting free dinner and beer. I still get excited to see every one, and I've only missed a couple so far out of sixteen evenings that I've been on island. You never really know what you're going to see because  the weather here moves quicker than I've ever seen anywhere else. What looks like it may be a "boring" sunset can quickly change with the fast arrival of some evening clouds. On the flip side, the perfect setting for a sunset - clouds spotting the horizon - can quickly be covered by thick rain clouds. Tonight's vista was more the former, and the sunset didn't really become amazing til after the sun actually dropped below the horizon.

To start us off with the sun still up:

Enjoying a bud light - I promise I'm happier than I look!

Sometimes the colors are more interesting away from the sun:

Now it really starts to get interesting. The sky started turning all kinds of colors:

I've found it quite amazing when the clouds cast shadows on the sky. Not something you're used to seeing.

I've also never actually seen the water turn purple. This only lasted for a couple minutes.

And last light before it all fizzled out.
